Our history in timeline
2019
Lemonero Founded
Lemonero was founded in 2019 by a team of experienced entrepreneurs, led by Jan Lastuvka and Lubos Malik with a vision to revolutionize SME financing. Combining expertise in fintech, data science, and e-commerce, the founders set out to create an innovative, AI-driven platform that provides fast, flexible, and fully digital financing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
2020
Pilot Launched
Lemonero launched after a pilot phase on the largest Czech and Slovak e-commerce platform, Shoptet. In October 2020, Lemonero successfully secured its first investment from Komerční banka, part of the Société Générale Group.
2021
Embedded Financing
In early 2021, Lemonero integrated with two additional e-commerce platforms, Eshop-rychle and Upgates. The company then extended its services to the largest Czech marketplaces, Mall and Alza, offering embedded and white-labeled financing solutions. In November 2021, Lemonero was awarded the Best Digital Lending Solutions for SMEs by the SME Banking Club, winning in the FinTech category for Central and Eastern Europe.
2022
Revenue-based Financing
and Expansion
In 2022, Lemonero successfully expanded into Slovakia and received further €12m investment from Komerční banka in June 2022 for another scale up and expansion needs which were additionally used to expand into the Benelux area. This year, Lemonero also launched the first revenue-based embedded financing on the largest Czech payment gateways - GoPay Financing and Comgate Business Loan and was second time in a row awarded the Best Digital Lending Solutions for SMEs by the SME Banking Club.

Successfull Improvements
In late 2023, Lemonero won the SME Banking Club's Best Digital Lending Solutions for SMEs award for the third consecutive year. Additionally, Lemonero was recognized as the second-best fintech solution at the Mastercard Bank of the Year 2023 competition and secured another investment round from Komerční banka, part of the Société Générale Group to consolidate its position in Benelux and expand into other countries and markets.

Product and People Masterpiece
A significant milestone in 2024 was Lemonero's selection as one of the top 8 fintech companies from 274 applicants for the Visa Innovation Program Europe, marking its entry into the SME financing market in Spain. Notably, Lemonero is the only non-Spanish or Portuguese fintech company to achieve this distinction.
